Mission Plan | You Will Be My Witness
Introduction: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants πΏ
Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's,
As we turn the pages of our Church's story, we are reminded of the immense sacrifices made by those before us. It may feel as if we are standing on the shoulders of giants. They laid the foundations of our schools and, funded our beloved churches, and nurtured the spirit of our community.
Now, it falls upon us to honour their legacy and embrace the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Our journey, as outlined in "You Will Be My Witness," isn't about avoiding the storm but learning to dance in the rain, using faith as our umbrella.

The Eternal Flame of the Church's Mission π₯
What is the Church's heartbeat, you ask? It beats to the rhythm of evangelization β a call to kindle a personal and passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and to share this warming light with others. It's about reaching out, like the branches of a sturdy oak, to provide shelter and comfort to all, irrespective of their journey's start.
In the Eye of the Storm: Embracing Change as Opportunity πͺοΈ
In a world swirling with change, where science and secularism often eclipse traditional beliefs, our church, like a steadfast lighthouse, faces the winds of change. The decline in religious practice is not a signal of defeat, but a clarion call for rejuvenation, much like the rebirth of nature after winter's slumber.
A Path Laid with Purpose: Our Renewal Plan π€οΈ
Our roadmap, "You Will Be My Witnesses," is not just a set of instructions but a tapestry woven with threads of past wisdom and present insight. It's a call to deepen our spiritual roots and extend our branches outward, creating a church that, like the Good Samaritan, reaches out to the needy, the lonely, and the marginalized.
Engaging with Today's World: A New Language of Love π
In a world where digital echoes resound louder than church bells, how do we make the Gospel's timeless melody heard? This journey demands creativity, openness, and a deep trust in the Holy Spirit. We are called to be digital disciples, using modern tools to paint the age-old truths in new colours.
Youth: The Dawn of Tomorrow's Church π
Our youth, bright-eyed and hopeful, are not just students in our schools but the seeds of our church's future. How can we, like a nurturing gardener, cultivate their faith? Let's create a synergy between our schools and parish, transforming them into greenhouses of spiritual growth.

Every Hand Counts: Your Role in This Journey π
The tapestry of our church's future is woven by many hands. Each of us, a unique thread, has a role in this divine design. What changes can you bring to your family, friends, and community to support this mission? Remember, every small stitch contributes to the strength of the whole.
Conclusion: Embracing Our Faith-Filled Odyssey ποΈ
In closing, "You Will Be My Witnesses" is not just a plan for the next decade; it's a call to awaken and act. It's an invitation to share the Gospel in ways that resonate with today's society, bringing people closer to God's infinite grace. Let's walk this path with hope, courage, and love, keeping our eyes fixed on the horizon of faith.
We invite you to share your thoughts, reflections, and inspirations. How can we, together, turn these aspirations into realities? Your voice matters. π
Prayer For The Renewal Of Our Diocese π
Dear Sacred Heart of Jesus, we come before you with humble hearts, fervently praying for the renewal of our Diocese. We acknowledge our need for change, conversion, and holiness. Fill us, O Lord, with a deeper faith, an unwavering hope, and a fervent love for you.
We implore you, O Sacred Heart, to send forth the cleansing fire of the Holy Spirit into our hearts, purifying us and making us worthy vessels of your grace. Renew all the clergy, religious, and laity of our Diocese, that we may be united in love and respect for one another, as your one, holy people.
Grant us, O Lord, a new passion and zeal for the Catholic Faith. Ignite within us a burning desire for mission, outreach, and service, that we may bring your Gospel to those in need. Open our hearts to generously and fearlessly proclaim your truth, that many souls may be saved by finding their way to you in your Church.
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God, we ask for your intercession and guidance in this mission of renewal. May your loving presence inspire us and lead us closer to your Son, Jesus.
We also seek the intercession of St. Edmund of Abingdon and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Holy Saints, pray for us, that we may be strengthened and guided in our efforts to renew our Diocese.
We offer this prayer with confidence, trusting in your infinite mercy and love. Renew us, O Lord, and make us instruments of your grace and mercy, that through our renewed faith, hope, and love, we may bring glory to your name and lead others to encounter your saving grace. Amen.
Closer To Christ
This beautiful image represents the idea of Christ holding us, akin to the image of St. Joseph holding the infant Jesus.

Jesus Christ holds a child representing the faithful of St Joseph's, with a gentle and protective embrace. The child gazes out, a metaphor for the parishioners looking towards the future with trust and faith. Christ's halo shines brilliantly, casting a warm and guiding light over the child and, by extension, the parish community, embodying the protective and guiding role Christ has in our spiritual journey.
